Sculpture is my way of expressing an ongoing inquiry into the nature of life, our surroundings and the human psyche.

With a background in engineering and art, I started to understand these two disciplines as ends of the same spectrum; where engineering focuses on problem solving and comprehension, art allows us to create problems and permit a lack of understanding. Where one exists, there is the shadow of the other. I believe this coexistence helps us understand ourselves and our environment.

The goal of my work is embodied in a quote by William James,
"The union of the mathematician with the poet, fervor with measure, passion with correctness, this surely is the ideal"
